A man has attempted to rob a store with a 'bomb' made from a sex toy, it has been reported.

Court reports have revealed that 35-year-old Aaron Stein attempted to rob PNC Bank in Pittsburgh with a suspicious looking item that he had hidden in his shirt.

When approached by the dodgy looking man, cashiers handed the cash over, before dialling 911.

Although he told police that the phoney bomb was in fact an adult toy and cell phone cable wrapped in duct tape. As a precaution, roads were shut down and the bomb squad were deployed when police pulled him over.

Stein told the police that he had robbed the bank because he was desperate because he had lost all his money in the stock market a week earlier.

When he was searched by officers, it was discovered that the item he had stashed under his shirt was indeed a vibrator.

The man had reportedly created his weapon of mass destruction using a box, some tape, a mobile phone cord and a dildo.

Describing the incident, Mark Sumpter, Crafton police chief, said: "He had a mask on, said he had a bomb, displayed some wires hanging out from underneath his shirt."

Stein was collared by police after an officer reportedly saw him sitting in a white Toyota Corolla and he drove away when confronted.

When he was stopped, the officer noticed the stash of money in his car.

It was then Stein confessed to his ruse and explained how his bomb was made.

Shortly after that, police used robots to remove items from Stein's car, and a briefcase in the trunk was blown open to see what was inside.

Stein was then charged with ‘possessing a facsimile weapon of mass destruction’.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801791683-ADNFCR
