One of the sporting events that is set to take place at September's Invictus Games – now drawing incredibly close – is a Jaguar Land Rover driving challenge. And the brand has just given word of its plans for this event.

Eleven different countries are going to be taking part in the driving on September 9th, in teams of two, with Warwickshire's Jaguar Land Rover Design and Engineering Centre hosting.

It comes the day before the Invictus Games officially begin on September 10th this year. The London-based sporting occasion for sick, injured and wounded service people will run to September 14th, ending with a special Foo Fighters-headlined closing concert.

The Ministry of Defence and Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry are strong supporters of the sporting occasion, which is presented by Jaguar Land Rover.

The driving challenge will test navigation and driving skill and feature two stages: all-terrain and tarmac. Each team will have both a navigator and driver. A total time will be worked out from each team's time on both of these parts of the competition. The final will be participated in by the four fastest teams from the earlier stages.

Overall in the Games, over 400 service people will take part, representing a range of 14 nations.

The non-driving parts of the Games will be happening at Lee Valley Athletics Centre and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

"Jaguar Land Rover is immensely proud to be enabling the Invictus Games and hosting this exciting driving challenge," Jaguar Land Rover chief executive officer Dr Ralf Speth said.

"We have been inspired by the passion with which Prince Harry has championed this visionary idea, to celebrate the commitment and achievements of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel," Speth added. Prince Harry launched the Games earlier in 2014.

Dr Speth has also said that Jaguar Land Rover is working with the MoD and Royal Foundation to explore methods to boost employment prospects for service people becoming civilians.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801744210-ADNFCR
