Imagine being a teeanger, busy learning new things in a classroom, when a prince walks through the door.

This happened recently, when Prince Harry took a group of East London students by surprise in the run-up to the Invictus Games.

The Games, which the Prince himself launched, are a sporting event for injured, wounded and sick service people, such as British soldiers, which will be happening in London between September 10th and September 14th 2014.

The young people who Harry surprised were training as Digital Media Champions for the event at the time of his visit, at Bethnal Green Academy. Over 60 teens saw the prince arrive, and he even gave certificates to the students who have finished their training.

Trained by Facebook, the students will report from the venues where the Invictus Games are taking place, providing live updates. Their training features ideas for making good social media posts, using imagery and being safe on the internet.

“The Invictus Games will be a truly inspirational event and we’re delighted that we’re able to give young Londoners the chance to be a part of this unique experience," commented Invictus Games chairman, Sir Keith Mills.

"Not only will this help ensure the Invictus Games provide a lasting learning opportunity for the community but the Digital Media Champions will have learnt skills they can use later on in their lives.”

The Digital Media Champions' training is the work of the Invictus Games and charity Citizens UK.

Tickets for the games are currently being sold via the event's official website.

The participants will be over 400 current service people and veterans from 14 different countries.

The games have support from the Ministry of Defence and The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

The Royal Foundation has been active since 2009, and focuses on areas around conservation and the young, as well as the Armed Forces, in its charitable efforts.

Prince Harry is of course the brother of Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, who is married to Catherine Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801737018-ADNFCR
