Help for Heroes is looking to turn one of the UK's favourite new hobbies into a chance to raise funds for hundreds of thousands of injured servicemen as it gets ready to launch a new campaign next month.

The Bake for Heroes campaign will ask British bakers to don their aprons, head to their kitchens and make cakes and other treats to sell on over a fortnight dedicated to raising dough, in more ways than one.
Baking has become a rather surprising hobby among young people in particular throughout the last few years, with the rise in popularity of the BBC's Great British Bake Off having brought the art to the fore and made it somewhat trendy yet again.

Over the period of April 18th until May 4th this year, Help for Heroes is urging Brits to put their baking to good use for an excellent cause, however they see fit. Whether it is simply asking friends around for a coffee morning with cakes for a small donation or creating a bake sale in town, every little helps when it comes to providing vital funding to wounded, injured and sick service personnel, veterans and their families.

The charity said that every cake baked and eaten will help in some way to making life better for those who need it most. Those organising an event should contact Help for Heroes to get their own fundraising pack sent out. These packs include wristbands, lapel pins, collecting boxes, bunting, balloons and pricing stickers.

Emma Parry, chief executive officer and co-founder, Help for Heroes said: “H4H is all about ‘doing your bit’ and this event is a wonderful example of people rallying support and having a great deal of fun while they raise money.

"The money you raise is needed, it is being used and it is hugely appreciated.”ADNFCR-2867-ID-801779872-ADNFCR
