Help for Heroes benefits from celeb golf tournament

The annual Heroes National Celebrity Golf Day took place yesterday (April 25th).

It saw a number of celebrities and sporting stars come together to raise cash for Help for Heroes.

Sam Torrance, Dean Ashton, Ian Wright, Chris Evans, Max Rushden, Steve Rider and Jason Leonard were among those who teed off for the good cause.

Bryn Parry, chief executive officer and one of the co-founders of Help for Heroes, said: "The money and awareness raised from this event will make a huge difference to those wounded, injured or who have become sick in the line of duty and their families."

Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire was the venue for the event and the winning team - labelled Black Heart Foundation - featured former Ashes-winning captain Michael Vaughan.

In 2006, the course was selected as one of the top 100 on the planet by Golf World, which highlights the difficulty faced by the stars.
