H4H gets help from fish and chip shops

Nine fish and chip shops have got behind military charity Help for Heroes (H4H).

A range of different fundraising activities, alongside reduced fish and chips, were offered by the eateries on September 12th in an effort to raise as much money as possible.

The nine shops who took part were all nominated for the Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Award in the 2012 National Fish & Chip Awards, which are sponsored by Seafish.

Nikki Hawkins, foodservice and events manager at Seafish, said 2012 will forever be remembered as the year that Britishness was celebrated through the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

"We are honoured to support H4H to recognise the sacrifice our British service men and women make for our country," she added.

Ms Hawkins added it is great that through the hard work of the employees money has been raised for the good cause.
