Single soldiers and others trying to find love after a long period of being alone might be wise to socialise as much as possible.

Writing in the Daily Mirror, Coleen Nolan responded to a 32-year-old man who said he finds it difficult to approach women after spending a long time studying at university.

Coleen suggested this may have reduced the reader's confidence and advised "going out as much as you can and talking to lots of different people".

This may make it easier to find love when the time is right, as the singleton will be more self assured after socialising regularly.

Inevitably there will be some people that will not be interested in a relationship, but the agony aunt – who is perhaps best known for her role as a panelist on talkshow Loose Women – explained this is something the majority of people experience before meeting Mr or Mrs Right.
