A farmer has reacted in shock after one of his pigs was born with two heads and three eyes.

The shocked farm owner said he could not understand why his pig was born with the deformity when the rest were normal and healthy looking.

He has now been flooded with offers from curious people who want to buy it to use as an attraction. This has turned the piglet into an instant celebrity, with internet users charmed by its two snouts and three eyes.

Local people from Robles, in Colombia, have also flocked to see the animal, which is a rarity, not just on the farm, but across the world.

The strange looking animal is described as having pink skin and black spots.

Farmer, Hegel Ortega Padilla, 68, said the discovery has stunned him and he has never seen anything like it before.

His son, Fernando Ortega, said: "Everyone began to ask about the pig, they wanted to find out about it and take pictures.

"It was a sensation. However, no one knows why it was born with two heads. There are 25 others in the group and there is no other animal with any deformity or physical problems."

The farmers are currently unsure of what to do with the animal, although some superstitious locals have advised them to kill it.

Its deformity may indeed mean that the pig may not survive very long as the head becomes very heavy – and they often have difficulty feeding.

The condition is known as  polycephaly and can affect any animal, including humans.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801791917-ADNFCR
