A drunk driver in the US has been arrested after doing the local law enforcement's job for them when she accidentally drove to a local jail after mistaking it for a bar.

The Michigan native had apparently decided to pick up her boyfriend at a pre-arranged location, their local pub, after she had consumed a few drinks, but instead turned up in the car park at Van Buren County Jail.

The unnamed 39-year old woman was spotted by police officers in Paw Paw as she reversed rather poorly into the jail's car park at 2am on Sunday. After speaking to her, they noticed that she smelled of alcohol and appeared to be drunk.

A breath test at the site confirmed that the rather dim driver was more than two times the legal limit, and she was arrested for driving under the influence. It is expected that she will face charges which could lead to a driving ban.

Elsewhere in the world of weird news, a user on Reddit has been entertaining web users this past weekend with a tale of his toilet woes. The user, who remains anonymous, found out that he had been going to the toilet wrong for his entire life.

The revelation emerged when the man was buying a new bathroom suite. When the assistant joked about a toilet with an automatically-descending seat to stop arguments between the man and his wife, he quipped that if it wasn't for his wife, he could do away with the seat altogether.

It was only the confused look from the salesman that led the man to realise that not everyone sits on the rim of the toilet bowl itself, and that the seat is for the comfort of gentlemen, as well as ladies.

"Thinking about it now, it makes sense. Especially how men’s restrooms have seats. But I just assumed it was a unisex/cost saving/oversight deal," the doubtlessly red-faced man told Reddit. ADNFCR-2867-ID-801756119-ADNFCR
