Debenhams has revealed that it is going to be giving a hand to Help for Heroes by asking its customers in the north-east and across North Yorkshire to give a little extra when they're shopping in the store next month.

The Darlington and Stockton Times has revealed that the department store will be welcoming hundreds of volunteers from the military charity to its stores with collection tins in a bid to raise funds for the support of soldiers.

As well as this, the volunteers will also be bringing with them official merchandise from the charity to sell in Debenhams stores, with all of the money raised going to the good cause. This is the second year in a row that Debenhams has opened its doors to the charity, and it comes after another nationwide store, Tesco, helped out by allowing Help for Heroes to develop and sell its own beer in a range of its outlets.

This year's Debenhams charity events will take place across the weekend of March 21st and 22nd, and Help for Heroes chief executive officer Bryn Parry said: ”We rely heavily on our wonderful volunteers and on this exciting collection weekend, they’ll be giving up their time to do their bit at a local Debenhams store.

“We’d love for as many people as possible to show their support them while they’re out doing their shopping and so help make this a huge success."

He also went on to say that the help people can give to military personnel through this sort of charity drive is invaluable. People who have been injured while serving their country, Mr Parry added, need help and support for the rest of their lives, and Help for Heroes intends to allow them this. ADNFCR-2867-ID-801776948-ADNFCR
