A 15 year old boy has become the youngest in Britain to get himself microchipped, it has been reported.

The cyborg teen Bryon Wake, told reporters how he injected himself with the chip, which is smaller than a grain of rice, while his parents were downstairs.

Although his parents 'were not that thrilled' he said they have come to terms with it. His grandpa on the other hand, is proud.

He said in an interview with the Daily Mail: "I didn't tell my parents until three days later. They took it better than expected because they had already told me not to do it. And then when I did tell them I'd done it, they just went with it.

"Afterwards I had checked it out at the doctor who said it was fine and they were happy. My grandpa is a surgeon and he said that he was proud, and my mum wasn't expecting that at all."

Inserting the chip allows Bryon to control his mobile phone, unlock doors, and even hand out electronic business cards.

Byron, who wants to work in IT when he is older, ordered the kit from the United States and carried out the procedure himself, despite being warned to get help from a doctor.

The microchip works by using near field communication (NFC) which emits a low power radio-frequency signature that triggers pre-programmed events.

It allows Byron to send business cards by touching his hand onto other Android user's phones, which will automatically transfer his details.

He explained that his schoolmates think he is cool, if a little eccentric, while his teachers described him as 'innovative'.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801793142-ADNFCR
