Fundraising is a great way to get money for worthy causes like Help for Heroes, but it can sometimes be difficult to motivate people to donate.

A Bristol law firm avoided this problem by using unique and creative fundraising efforts to earn money for Help for Heroes, Bristol 24 reports.

Employees at Burges Salmon raised almost £50,000 in a year, after coming up with a range of activities for locals to enjoy.

They delivered bacon sandwiches in black-tie outfits, distributed Christmas presents dressed as elves and ran a 210-mile road relay around Wales, the news source notes.

Squadron Leader Di Lamb from the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine in Birmingham said: "We are delighted that Burges Salmon managed to raise almost £50,000, which will go towards several projects in the region and across the UK.

"Some of the fundraising initiatives were very creative."

Another interesting attempt to raise money for the charity is Ink for Heroes, which sees people receive a cupcake tattoo to honour troops serving in the armed forces.
