Anyone fancying a sandwich containing several thousand calories might just be interested in a brand new creation featuring some 26 ingredients.

The Alphabet Sandwich has been designed by food blogger Nick Chapman of Dude Foods and is named because it includes a topping that begins in every letter of the alphabet.

Mr Chapman explained: "Now, I know that sounds simple enough, but do you realise how difficult it is to find a food that starts with the letter X?"

In order to overcome that particular obstacle, the foodie eventually opted to include xylocarp in the sandwich, which is a type of coconut.

Other potentially difficult letters such as J, Q and Z were covered by including jalapeno peppers, queso blanco dip and zucchini.

Among the more common sandwich fillings that made the cut in Mr Chapman's recipe were egg, cheese, ham, lettuce, bacon and spinach.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801711750-ADNFCR
